Cooperative Services

Building growth. Building strong communities.

Whether it’s crop nutrients or other inputs to achieve optimal yields, or grain marketing and agribusiness services that help capture economic value, our local cooperatives are helping farmers and ranchers succeed.

We understand the pride that comes with farming. Through our company-owned and locally governed retail agricultural businesses, we provide our owners and other customers with the wide range of agricultural inputs, energy products, hedging, financing and other business solutions they count on to help their operations grow.

  • Local Ownership

CHS owners get cooperative benefits like return on investment. In 2013, CHS directly returned more than $80 million in cash patronage to more than 77,000 producers. Our Service Centers provide more than 5,600 jobs and help build vibrant communities through volunteerism and stewardship efforts like our Harvest for Hunger program.

  • Agricultural Services

CHS cooperatives connect farmers to grain buyers and processors in the U.S. and around the globe. With more than 400 locations serving more than 250,000 farmers and other customers, we originate nearly 600 million bushels (15 million metric tons) of grain.

When it comes to agricultural inputs to achieve optimal yields, we deliver there, too. In fact, we handle more than 2 million tons of crop nutrients. They’re available to our owners through the local experts they trust to help their crops—and their business—grow.

  • Energy Products

By partnering with local cooperatives, farmers have a reliable supply of high-quality Cenex®-branded refined fuels, lubricants and propane.

As a supplier of more than 200 million gallons of refined fuels, we continue to invest in energy platforms today to ensure meeting our owners’ needs well into the future.

  • Animal Feed

CHS supplies a broad range of animal nutrition products to all-sized operations through wholesale feed operations and more than 650 retail locations across the United States.

In addition, our experienced animal nutritionists offer consultation on the latest in customized ration planning, livestock nutritional management, animal health and environmental engineering, as well as feed financing.

  • Business Services

When it comes to farming and ranching, we understand that work out of the field is just as important as work in the field. That’s why we offer a wide range of local solutions to help our owners grow, including: full-service brokerage and risk management hedging; convenience credit for purchasing inputs; farm transition planning; and financing products for a bright tomorrow.

  • Community Stewardship

Through our strong CHS network, owners’ voices are heard, and their communities are supported. We’re committed to giving back to our communities with our time, talent and resources. Through the annual Harvest for Hunger drive, our employees raise the equivalent of more than 3 million meals for food banks across the nation.
