CHS Foundation boosts support for future ag teachers

Aspiring agriculture teachers in 25 states gained significant new support from the CHS Foundation during National Teach Ag Day held in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 24.

During the celebration, the Foundation announced a $250,000 grant to support the State Teach Ag Results (STAR) program, an initiative of the National Teach Ag Campaign. Washington Representative Sarah Gallo represented CHS at the event.

The new grant will help fund efforts to recruit and retain ag teachers in STAR program states, enabling local schools to significantly impact the national agriculture teacher shortage. Money will help host agricultural education recruitment events at universities and Teach Ag workshops, implement mentoring programs and provide additional resources for current and prospective agriculture teachers.
