CHS updates

Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team

Nov 09, 2018

The Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins won’t be the only football teams at the legendary Lambeau Field this weekend.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) will take to the field during halftime for a game versus the Packers and NFL alumni. On their jersey sleeves, they’ll be wearing the CHS logo.

“We’re incredibly honored to sponsor this game as part of our relationship with FASTPORT,” says Tina Dorner, manager, Outreach Programs for CHS. “This game really highlights the strength and perseverance of service members.”

The CHS partnership with FASTPORT is a key element in the company’s effort to recruit those transitioning out of the military, those with military experience and military families. FASTPORT offers a robust military skills translator to connect military experiences to civilian jobs, including those at CHS.

The team, made of up service members who have served and are now using a prosthetic device to engage in everyday life activities, raises awareness and support for wounded warriors and their families. The WWAFT seeks to inspire fans and highlight the perseverance of service members (both active and former) who continue to face life’s challenges without excuses.

The WWAFT visits various cities across the country and endeavors to play exhibition games with current and retired professional athletes.

The Packers and Dolphins face off on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 3:25 p.m. CST.
