Governance & Compliance

A future of growth and integrity.

For nearly 90 years, CHS has built a reputation for managing our business with the highest level of integrity. Compliance with environmental, health and safety standards is our priority. Giving back to our communities through our time, talents and financial resources is expected. It’s a reputation with roots in the solid rural values this producer-owned company has been built on – trust, mutual respect and doing the right things for the right reasons.  The foundation of this commitment begins with our governance and compliance programs. Together these programs guide our company and employees to make the right decisions in responsible stewardship.
  • Our Values

    At CHS, we value:

    • Our tradition of leadership and shared success: Founded on the cooperative model, we are the leader in helping local producers and cooperatives grow their opportunities.
    • Building lasting and mutually rewarding customer relationships: Inherent in our cooperative business model is the concept of "win-win." We succeed when our customers succeed.
    • Managing our business safely and with the highest level of integrity: We treasure our roots in the solid rural values on which we were built — trust, mutual respect and doing the right things for the right reasons.
    • Being responsible stewards in our communities: We believe in making decisions today with an eye toward a better tomorrow.
    • Our people and their innovative spirit: Everything we do to bring our customers' visions to life begins with our employees, and we remain committed to providing them with personal and professional growth opportunities.

  • Compliance

At CHS, doing the right thing is not just a matter of compliance. It’s who we are. It’s about upholding our values of operating with integrity and being good corporate citizens for our employees, our neighbors and all others whose lives we touch.  Read more

  • Corporate Governance

CHS is governed by a 17-member board of directors elected by our producer and member co-op stockholders. Our directors are all active farmers and ranchers with a broad range of experience in agribusiness, as well as other business sectors. Other owners can be involved with CHS leadership, too. Read more
