First stop on the crop and cow tour is Miles City, Mont.
Editor of C magazine Greg Lamp is hitting the road on a motorcycle trip with a gang of Montana ranchers and farmers over the next few days. Follow along with him as the group of wild hogs tours ranches, farms, co-ops and processing facilities in eastern Montana and western North Dakota. He’ll post new photos of the adventure every day. Stay tuned.
More than 35 riders from mostly Montana, but also Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Arizona and Alberta, Canada, met for dinner at the Bucking Horse Saloon in Miles City to kick off the 8th annual Montana crop and cow tour. Organizer and rancher Carl Mattson welcomed the group with details about the ride, plus some of the biggest steaks I’ve ever seen from a local rancher. There are only a couple of first-timers, me included, and lots of veterans that haven’t missed a year. Weather looks like clear sailing for the next few days. Let’s hope it stays that way. More later.
