Fueling greatness through support of FFA

Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. Twelve simple words that National FFA members live by, during and after their time in the blue jacket.

The CHS Foundation brings this motto to life for members from across the nation through continued support of National FFA and 15 state FFA associations. Developing future leaders and providing them with opportunities to grow is a top priority for the CHS Foundation.

The FFA strives to develop premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Members develop confidence and leadership skills that last a life time.

“FFA has provided me with endless opportunities to step out of my comfort zone and grow as an individual,” says Valerie Earley, National Central Region Vice President, National FFA Organization. “It has shown me that though agriculture differs across the country and world, it has an impact everywhere.”

The summer is heating up with State FFA Conventions being hosted across the country. The CHS Foundation supports many programs and activities including Career Development Event awards, leadership activities and professional development programs.

“CHS and the CHS Foundation have invested and helped to strengthen the very core of FFA,” says Val Aarsvold, executive director, Minnesota FFA Foundation. “Their support allows us to build a strong foundation for agricultural educators and FFA members.”

State FFA associations like Minnesota and Texas use CHS Foundation grants to support programs for teachers and students. For example, Texas FFA uses CHS Foundation contributions to fund experiences for agricultural education teachers. This program allows agricultural educators from across Texas to participate in a hands-on experience, learning more about leadership in a variety of settings, global agriculture and technology/social media use for agricultural advocacy.

“If you empower educators, you are planting seeds of greatness,” says Aaron Alejandro, executive director, Texas FFA Foundation. “The bottom line is, the CHS Foundation provides the fuel to make things possible.”
