CHS Culture of Service

CHS and our employees give back to our hometown communities.

CHS employees are active volunteers where they live and work.  CHS employees participate in programs including CHS Days of Service, Harvest for Hunger and United Way Campaigns.

CHS Days of Service
  • Days of Service

More than 8,000 CHS employees each receive 16 hours of paid time each year to volunteer through CHS Days of Service. They live out the commitment to the CHS Culture of Service by volunteering together in groups or giving their time towards personal causes.

“I love that CHS gives us the opportunity to volunteer as a team. It’s great to get together in a different environment knowing what we’re doing is helping local families in need.” – Stefani Horne, CHS Elburn office coordinator.

  • CHS Harvest for Hunger

CHS Country Operations locations team up with local farmers to fight hunger in rural America.  The annual food, grain and fund drive benefits local and regional food banks.  Since 2011, the campaign has raised more than $4.7 million and 3.4 million pounds of food to help hungry families.

  • United Way Campaign

More than 15 CHS locations organize United Way campaigns to benefit their local communities. CHS matches employee contributions with $1.50 for every dollar raised.

    By the numbers:
$1.5 million raised for United Way programs benefiting local communities.
