For many farmers and cooperative leaders, their co-op is part of the day-to-day rhythm of their operations. That connection often starts with a familiar face at a co-op location or a conversation in the field with a trusted advisor from the co-op. Cooperatives support their owners and their communities to strengthen rural America.
In recognition of National Co-op Month, farmers and cooperative leaders describe how those relationships bring value.
- “I’m a big relationship person. I like knowing who I’m doing business with. The relationship has been a huge part of working with the co-op.”
- “The co-op is a partner in our farm. They are there with us every step of the way, whether that’s access to market or getting the best deal for the products we need to run our farm. Agriculture to me is family, and that includes the co-op.”
- “We can’t do it without the co-ops. We can’t farm out here if we don’t have a market to sell into. The co-op is just an integral part of what we’re doing.”
- “I have a strong preference with engaging with my co-ops in this area. I like the one-on-one attention that I get from them and the help that I get from them.”
