CHS owners:
Next year – 2026 – will mark my 20th year on the CHS Board. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my service to CHS and its owners, I believe it’s time for a new Board member to step in to help propel CHS into the future. With great confidence in my fellow Board members, the CHS management team and our cooperative, I have decided to not seek reelection to the Board when my three-year term ends in December 2026.
This has not been an easy decision because I am dedicated to the cooperative system and CHS. My decision is based entirely on my belief in the value of effective succession. That is why I have also chosen to not seek reelection to serve as Board chair when my one-year officer term ends this December.
I look forward to supporting the Board during my final year as a Director in 2026 and to helping facilitate a seamless transition for the next Board chair. By announcing my plans now, I hope to give those interested in running for the Region 7 Director seat in 2026 sufficient time to consider the opportunity before the new deadline for candidate applications and initiation of the CHS Nominating Committee process on Feb. 15, 2026.
When my time on the Board is done, I will continue to advocate for this great company and the cooperative system. I truly believe it is the most effective business model designed to help its owners succeed. It has served us well for nearly a century and I am confident its strengths will grow over time. I have the utmost respect for my fellow Board members and the CHS management team. I know they will continue to serve with sound strategic vision and a focus on owner success.
