The opportunity to have a voice in the company they own is a key benefit for cooperative owners. CHS owners exercise that benefit as they participate in CHS governance by nominating and electing the CHS Board of Directors.

In December 2026, CHS members will elect Directors to seven seats on the CHS Board in the following regions: 1 (two seats), 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8. As announced in mid-2025, CHS Board of Directors candidate applications are due Feb. 15, 2026.

The 2026 CHS Nominating Committee, elected by CHS members in regional caucuses at the 2025 CHS Annual Meeting, will assess and recommend up to two candidates for each open Board seat. The committee’s recommendations will be announced to CHS members in April 2026.
