CHS has invested in a new seed treatment blender at its Rockford, Washington, location, expanding seed treatment capabilities in the Pacific Northwest and strengthening service to growers across the region. The installation marks the fifth seed treatment blender added into the STI (seed treatment inoculant) Customized blending service by CHS since 2011.

The new Rockford blender enables CHS to deliver custom seed treatment blends for both traditional cereal crops and specialty markets, including large-seeded vegetables. These treatments are tailored to local cropping systems and environmental conditions, helping address early season disease, insect pressure, and stand a variety of agronomic challenges common across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana.

“Seed treatment is one of the most effective tools growers have to protect yield potential before the crop even emerges,” says Blake Murnan, director of seed applied technologies at CHS. “This investment brings greater flexibility, precision, and value to our customers in a region where customized solutions matter.”

By increasing the seed treatment blending service in Rockford, CHS can respond more quickly to customer needs while improving supply reliability across the region. The investment also supports CHS ag retail and wholesale customers by increasing access to a broader range of treatment options from leading crop protection partners.
