Giving back to our communities

CHS Stewardship is committed to making a meaningful difference in rural America by supporting projects that have a strong tie to agriculture and align with one of our key focus areas. Read on to learn about CHS Foundation and CHS Community Giving priorities or apply now.

Application and funding guidelines

  • CHS Community Giving
    • Ag Safety: National or state level ag safety requests are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now. New applicants will need to create an ID before filling out the application.
    • Backyard Giving Grants: A new grant opportunity for organizations in the Twin Cities. Organizations who are educating the next generation about agriculture, providing basic needs services to those in need or bringing the community together to further strengthen the Twin Cities are eligible for up to $5,000. The next application cycle opens Nov. 1, 2019 to Jan. 1, 2020.
    • Seeds for Stewardship: The Seeds for Stewardship grant application is now closed. The next application period is open from Dec. 1, 2019- Feb. 1, 2020.
    • Sponsorships: Agriculture, cooperative or industry-related sponsorships. Click here to apply.
  • CHS Foundation
    • National or state level ag education, rural youth leadership or university requests will be accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now. New applicants will need to create an ID before filling out the application.
    • Cooperative Education grants are accepted from January - March. Learn more.


  • CHS supports national- or state-level requests within the main CHS trade area. (Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.)
  • Projects on the local level will be accepted through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship cooperative matching grants program.

  • Individuals, individual needs or individual fundraisers (Supported organizations must be a 501c3 or related charity)
  • Sports teams or athletic requests
  • Medical/disease related causes
  • Groups with religious affiliation
  • Political campaigns, fundraisers or lobbying efforts not endorsed through CHS Government Affairs

CHS Community Giving

CHS Community Giving provides funding for national- and state-level ag health and safety programs and agriculture-related sponsorships, and supports cooperatives through the CHS Seeds for Stewardship matching grant program.

CHS Foundation

The CHS Foundation is dedicated to supporting the next generation of ag leaders through college scholarships and grants that support cooperative education and national- and state-level youth leadership programs.
